Educator Resource Kits
The Museum encourages qualifying groups to borrow Teacher Resource Boxes (TRB). These kits, arranged in easy to handle plastic totes, contain a variety of curriculum enhancing materials ranging from reproduction artifacts, music CDs, books to craft ideas and are ideally suited to compliment a Museum visit. You can check out a TRB for up to two (2) weeks prior to or following a scheduled tour.
Educator Workshops
Enhance your curriculum offerings by participating in an MKIM Educator Workshop. Topics include Native American culture (can region or topic specific), hands-on activities to do with students and ways to meet state education standards or youth group badge requirements. Our sessions can be added to a staff development day or can stand-alone. Workshops are available at the Museum, or at your facility. The fee for a two-hour workshop for up to 25 people is $200 plus mileage.
Outreach Programs
A visit to Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, where you can see over 1,000 Native American artifacts, is a mind-expanding experience. However, if you are unable to make the trip, the Museum can come to you (with items from our Educational Collection) for presentations in classrooms, libraries, summer camps and other public venues. Hands-on crafts are also available for smaller groups. Call the Museum to discuss details and your particular curriculum needs or topics. Outreach programs are available January thru mid-April.
