Donor’s Bill of Rights

To ensure that potential donors can have full confidence when they are considering donating to Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, we declare that all donors have the following rights:

-To be informed of MKIM’s mission, non-profit status, the way we intend to use a donation, and that we have the capacity to use donations effectively

-To be assured that gifts will be used for the purpose for which they were given

-To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition, and to be informed that a donation may entitle the donor to a tax deduction

-To be assured that any donations, and particularly online donations, occur through a safe, private, and secure system

-To be assured that information about the donation and the donor is handled with confidentiality to the extent provided by law, and to be assured that donor information will not be shared or sold to other organizations

-To have the opportunity to opt out of any further communications

-Upon request, to have access to MKIM’s audited financial statements, and information about MKIM’s governing board

-To have clear access to contact information, to be free to ask questions when making a donation, and to receive prompt and truthful responses.
